Job Vacancies In The USA Increased Slightly In September
The number of job vacancies in the USA increased slightly in September.
The US Department of Labor reported in a regular monthly report on the number of so-called open positions (Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey - JOLTS).
The number of job vacancies increased by 84,000 in September compared to August to 6.4 million. It thus remained below the level of February, a month before the onset of the
pandemic. There were about 7 million in that month.
The vacancy rate remained unchanged in September at 4.3%.
At the end of last week, the Ministry of Labor published data on the creation of new job positions in the USA for October.
According to it, 638,000 new jobs were created in the
United States last month, the lowest since the market recovery began in May this year.
However, the result is better than expected when economists expected to create only 530,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate fell to 6.9% from 7.9% in September.
