Kim Kardashian Was Sued Over EthereumMAX
Kim Kardashian, who advertised a cryptocurrency on her social media account, was sued over EthereumMAX.
Famous TV star Kim Kardashian introduced a cryptocurrency called EthereumMax (
EMAX) in June 2021. Likewise, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was among the names promoting EMAX.
On January 7, a lawsuit was filed against Kim Kardashian and
Floyd Mayweather Jr. for promoting crypto in Los Angeles federal court. The reason for the lawsuit is that the duo are using their fan base to increase the price of EthereumMAX (EMAX) in order to make a profit for themselves.
According to Reuters, the company's executives, collaborating with several famous backers, made false or misleading statements about EthereumMax through social media ads and other promotional activities. It is also stated that these sentences are included in the case file.
Another name in the lawsuit is, of course, the EthereumMax company. However, the company made the following statement on the subject and denied the allegations:
"The deceptive narrative about the recent allegations is full of misinformation about the EthereumMax project. We oppose the allegations and look forward to the truth coming out."
The defendants in the case are waiting to receive a refund of their profits.
