Lagarde Evaluated The Impact of Delta Variant on Risk Balance
Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), evaluated the impact of the delta variant on the risk balance.
European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde stated that today's economic risks are more or less balanced, said, "The delta variant of Covid-19 leaves the risk balance issue on hold."
Answering questions at The Rencontres Economiques in Aix-en-Provence forum, where the difficulties of the next 5 years in France were discussed, Lagarde made some assessments on economic risks and the global tax agreement.
Explaining that as the
ECB, they have established a very rapid support program since the Covid-19 epidemic began, Lagarde underlined that as a bank, they will continue to do what is necessary to support the economy.
Lagarde also mentioned the economic recovery and supply bottleneck in European countries and the increasing inflation rates after Covid-19, said, "There will be a return to lower inflation rates."
Regarding the agreement of 130 countries on the taxation of at least 15 percent of multinational companies in the country where they operate, Lagarde said, "We must not lose the momentum gained in the global taxation agreement."
