Last Month Airbus Recorded The Highest Volume Of Commercial Aircraft Deliveries Since The Beginning Of The Year
Last month, European aircraft manufacturer Airbus recorded the highest volume of commercial aircraft deliveries since the beginning of the year.
They pointed this out in data released by the company at the end of this week.
According to Airbus, it delivered 57 aircraft to customers in September after 39 deliveries in August. In the first nine months of this year, it delivered 341 aircraft to customers. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a decrease of 40 percent.
The extent of the decrease in supply is the same as in the case of production. The reason is the onset of a new coronavirus pandemic in March this year, which has affected air traffic around the world.
At the beginning of the pandemic, Airbus canceled the full-year supply development forecast, stating that it was a problem to estimate the full-year supply due to the uncertainty of further development. However, as part of current internal forecasts, it expects approximately 500 aircraft delivered this year.
In 2019, the company delivered a record 863 aircraft to customers. In 2018 it was 800 machines.
