Libya Assures the US About Oil Production
Libya assures the
US about oil production. Haftar, the commander of the Libyan National Army, personally assured the US government to fully reinstate the country's energy sector and continue oil production.
In the statement of the US Embassy in Libya, it was stated that the commander of the Libyan National Army (LUO), Khalifa Haftar, conveyed to the US government his personal commitment to fully reinstate the country's energy sector and continue oil production.
Following the correspondence between Haftar and the US Ambassador Richard Norland, "LUO conveyed to the
US government General Haftar's personal commitment to allowing energy sector to reopen by September 12 at the latest."
Stating that they are pleased with the resumption of
Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) activities, the American Embassy also stated that the US also supports the financial model that will guarantee that the oil and gas revenues will be distributed clearly and used for the benefit of the Libyan people.
Last month, Akile Salih, President of the House of Representatives in the east of Libya, stated that the oil production and exports in the country will restart and that the revenues from this will be frozen in a special account until a political solution is reached.
