Mehmet Aydin, the defendant in the Ciftlik Bank case, who surrendered in Brazil and is expected to arrive at Istanbul Airport at 10:30 pm this evening, will be detained when he gets off the plane and will be taken to the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for questioning.
According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, Mehmet Aydin, the founder of the system known as " Ciftlik Bank", was deported by Brazil at the request of
Turkey. Aydin, was brought by plane that departed from Brazil at 09:40 am this morning and will be in Istanbul around 10:30 pm in the evening. The first action against Aydin, who will be taken into custody when he gets off the plane, will be made at the Istanbul Airport Courthouse, which serves as the Gaziosmanpasa Courthouse annex building. Aydin will then be sent to the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for questioning.
There are ongoing investigation and prosecution files against Mehmet Aydin at the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Bursa and Geyve Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The first red notice about Aydin was issued on March 19, 2018, based on the arrest warrant.
