Miami Will Launch a Cryptocurrency Soon
Miami will launch a cryptocurrency soon. The name of the new coin will be MiamiCoin.
Miami is launching its new crypto, named MiamiCoin, tomorrow. Miami residents will support their city by mining or purchasing MiamiCoins. In other words, the income from MiamiCoin will go into the city's treasury.
According to the information received, MiamiCoin will break new ground as a city token. The biggest task of city tokens will be for a company or individual to invest in the city by investing in the city's token.
The cryptocurrency-friendly mayor of Miami,
Francis Suarez, is scrambling to make Miami a tech hub. The mayor also expressed that his doors are open to miners from China and that he wants Miami to be the “Bitcoin hub of the world”.
Also in an interview with Fox Business last week, the
mayor said, "The city of Miami could generate millions of dollars in revenue thanks to the popularity of MiamiCoin." In addition, the following expressions were used:
“MiamiCoin is just like Bitcoin. It works with a blockchain protocol, so whenever a cryptocurrency is mined, some of the resulting cryptocurrency goes to Miami through programming.”
It is unclear how much income the project, which is still in the trial phase, can provide to the city.
In addition, MiamiCoin (MIA) will be listed on “major reliable” exchanges and these exchanges will be announced shortly.
