Minister Elvan Evaluated The Current Account Deficit Data of Turkey
Minister Elvan evaluated the current account deficit data of Turkey. Elvan said, "We will continue to support our citizens."
The current account deficit became 1 billion 712 million dollars in April with a decrease of 3 billion 584 million dollars compared to the same month of the previous year. Accordingly, the 12-month current account deficit was at the level of 32 billion 737 million dollars.
This data was affected by the fact that the foreign trade deficit defined in the balance of payments decreased by 2 billion 332 million dollars compared to the same month of the previous year to 1 billion 513 million dollars, and the services balance item, which recorded a net outflow of 339 million dollars in April last year, recorded a net inflow of 811 million dollars.

Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan evaluated the current account deficit data. Posting on his Twitter account,
Minister Elvan made the following statements:
"January-May primary balance shows that we resolutely maintain our fiscal discipline policies. The current account deficit data released yesterday indicates that we are on the path of recovery. If necessary due to the pandemic, we will continue to stand by our citizens with focused/selective supports."
