Underlining that Turkey's strong health infrastructure and dedicated health personnel are the greatest assurance in this process, Koca pointed out that the Covid-19 epidemic once again shows the importance of cooperation at the global level and is a great test for relations between countries. Minister Koca made the following statements:
"Now, I want to take this cooperation one step further, I invite you and your company to invest in vaccine production in Turkey. As the Ministry of Health, I would also like to express that we are ready for all kinds of support for your investments in our country. In particular, the covid vaccine, influenza and hepatitis. We care about the joint production of vaccines such as A. In addition, I believe that we can develop an efficient cooperation model for the production of our domestic inactive Covid-19 vaccine, which is currently in phase 3, in our country. In this way, while increasing your company's international market share, at the same time, we will have realized the technology transfer as well.”
On the other hand, Sinovac company officials also explained that they had discussions on how to localize the production and distribution capacity.
Collaboration with Turkish Scientists
Stating that Sinovac's desire is not only to invest in the creation of a local production capacity and establishment of facilities in Turkey, but also to support the follow-up of the virus so that newly emerged variants and strains can be tracked and examined, Chinese officials said:
"Therefore, we wish to further develop our cooperation capacity with Turkish scientists. We will accelerate our activities especially for the establishment of a local production facility. We can make a commitment to you in this regard. We also want more Sinovac vaccines to be delivered to Turkey so that more people can use the
Sinovac vaccine so we can get a little bit closer to the end of the pandemic. We will form a technical team and send it to Turkey."
In the statement, which reported that the aforementioned technical team will be in Turkey tomorrow, it was informed that an investment decision and signatures are expected as soon as possible.
