More than 700 thousand workers are waiting for a raise. Negotiations are beginning to determine the increase to be made for public workers in 2021-2022.
Türk-İş and Hak-İş decided on their joint demands before the talks to determine the increase to be made in the period of 2021-2022.
The bargaining process will begin when the confederations submit their demands including financial and social rights to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in a short time.
It concerns 700 thousand public workers
During the previous contract period, the negotiations concerned about 200 thousand
public workers. Meetings will be held for more than 700 thousand workers this year, with the inclusion of those moving from the subcontractor system.
Talks Are Estimated To End In July
Among the demands are additional payments for workers in healthcare institutions, granting the right to appoint and training to subcontracted workers, and the abolition of the mandatory retirement practice for these workers.
Collective bargaining negotiations are expected to conclude in July.
Meetings Concerning Civil Servants and Retirees in August
In August, there will be a collective bargaining table with civil servants. For more than 3 million civil servants and nearly 2 million retired civil servants, negotiations with civil servant confederations will begin.
