Most Automotive Exports were Made from Bursa

Most automotive exports were made from Bursa. Bursa made more than a quarter of the automotive exports in 2020.

Bursa, which is defined as the base of automotive, where major automotive manufacturer companies such as OYAK Renault, TOFAŞ, Bosch and Karsan operate, made more than a quarter of the total automotive exports of Turkey in 2020, with a rate of 26.47 percent. The automotive sector, which exports 25 billion 548 million 566 thousand dollars in 2020, again ranked first among Turkey’s exports. In 2020, Bursa was recorded as the province with the highest exports by making 6 billion 763 million 421 thousand dollars worth of exports.   Kocaeli Followed Bursa on Exports In automotive exports, the total export revenue of Bursa, Kocaeli, Istanbul and Sakarya in 2020 was recorded as 21 billion 866 million 189 thousand dollars. Accordingly, these provinces made 85.58 percent of the total exports of the country, which was 25 billion 548 million 566 thousand dollars in 2020. Bursa, which ranked first in exports, was followed by Kocaeli with 5 billion 814 million 726 thousand dollars. Kocaeli ranked second, with a 22.75 percent share from the sector's exports in the said period. Istanbul, which exported 5 billion 284 million 185 thousand dollars in the automotive sector last year, took the third place with a share of 20.68 percent in the sector's exports, and Sakarya was the fourth with a share of 15.66 percent in the sector's exports with 4 billion 3 million 855 thousand dollars. These provinces, which make the largest part of automotive exports in Turkey, were respectively followed by Ankara, Izmir and Manisa. In 2020, Ankara made a total of 1 billion 148 million 879 thousand dollars worh of exports while İzmir made 549 million 946 thousand and Manisa made 454 million 854 thousand dollars of automotive exports.
