There Are Over 2 Million Unionized Workers in Turkey

According to the data shared by the
Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, there are over 2 million unionized workers in Turkey, where 14 million 371 thousand 96 workers are employed.
The "Communiqué on the Statistics of January 2021 on the Number of Workers in Business Unions and the Number of Members of the Unions in accordance with the Law No. 6356 on Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreement" prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services was published in the current issue of the Official Gazette.
According to the published communique,
Turk-Is was registered as the confederation with the highest number of members with 1 million 131 thousand 749. Turk-Is was followed by Hak-İş with 711 thousand 295 members and DİSK with 193.866 members.
While 25 thousand 764 workers are members of independent unions, 4 thousand 127 workers are members of Ülkem-İş, 1647 workers of Tüm-İş, and 1028 of them are members of Anadolu-İş.
Out of 14 million 371 thousand 96 workers working in Turkey, 2 million 69 thousand 476 are union members. The rate of unionized workers was recorded as 14.40 percent.
