Most Price Increase in December was in Fresh Beans
The most price increase in December was seen in fresh beans. The price of fresh beans topped the list with a 36.49 percent increase.
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the most increasing and decreasing spending items in Istanbul for the December 2020 period. According to the announced data, the retail price of 106 of the 242 products included in the
Istanbul Wage Earners Index of ITO increased, while the prices of 22 products fell, and the prices of 114 products remained unchanged.
Price of Fresh Beans Increases by 36.49 Percent
In December, green beans, whose food expenditures are in the sub-group of fresh dried vegetables and fruits, recorded the highest increase in price with 36.49 percent.
Other products with an increase in prices were recorded as pumpkin with 26.88 percent in the fresh dried vegetables and fruits sub-group, green onion with 26.15 percent, cauliflower with 20.75 percent and vacuum cleaner with 20.90 percent in the expenditure group of household items.
The Orange Has Been The Most Reduced Price
In December, food spending decreased by 17.48 percent in the sub-group of fresh dried fruits and vegetables, and was recorded as the product with the lowest price decrease.
Other products with a decrease in prices are hotel room accommodation fee with 16.48 percent in the culture, education and entertainment expenditures group, lemon with 11.22 percent in the food expenditures group, cabbage with 4.70 percent and banana with 4.40 percent in the group of food expenditures.
