Musk and Dorsey's Messages Exposed
In the ongoing lawsuit between Tesla's CEO Elon Musk and Twitter, messages between Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey were also revealed. In this conversation between the two, it was noted that Musk also had an idea for users to pay with 0.1 DOGE to tweet.
In the process that has been going on for months between successful businessman Elon Musk and Twitter, the messages made public by the court take the incident to a different dimension. In the conversations that emerged, it was observed that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tried to include Elon Musk in Twitter a year before the $ 44 billion deal.
During Musk's controversial attempt to buy Twitter, former CEO and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey told the Tesla CEO that the platform
"should be based on an open source protocol funded by a foundation." In a message sent before software architect Dorsey left the Twitter board, Musk called Dorsey's vision
"quite interesting."
The texts were produced as part of the legal review process in Musk's ongoing lawsuit against Twitter and its Board of Directors. With this evidence, Twitter is trying to hold the billionaire to its offer to buy the service.
The evidence in the case is an archive of Musk's text messages with various prominent tech players, including Dorsey, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and investor-podcaster Jason Calcanis.
In other messages, Jack Dorsey said,
"We need a new platform. This can't be a company. That's why I left." Elon Musk was quick to respond, asking,
"What should it look like?"
Jack Dorsey emphasized Twitter's encrypted messaging app, saying,
"I believe it should be an open source protocol, funded by some kind of foundation that doesn't own the protocol, just develops it. Just like Signal did. It's not going to be an advertising model. If there's a centralized entity behind it, it will be attacked," Dorsey added.
"I think it's worth both moving Twitter in a better direction and doing something decentralized," said Musk, who seemed warm to the idea.
Musk's Twitter plan: Sharing with Dogecoin
According to the messaging, Musk also had an idea to use Dogecoin, his favorite cryptocurrency, on the platform. Musk also said he would enable users to pay with 0.1 DOGE to be able to tweet.
"My plan B is a blockchain-based version of Twitter, where 'tweets' are embedded into the transaction as comments," the Tesla CEO wrote.
According to Musk, the idea is seen as enabling users to pay a small amount to record an on-chain message, thereby reducing most spam and bots.
