Shopping Giant Hepsiburada Grew 69% in the First 6 Months of the Year
Hepsiburada, the popular shopping site that has been in operation since 1998, has high performance in indicators of strategic importance for e-commerce, especially Total Sales Volume, Number of Active Sellers, Number of Active Customers, Order Frequency and Number of Products in 2022!
Hepsiburada's total sales volume increased by 57% compared to the first quarter of 2021 and reached 9.2 billion liras. In this way, the total sales volume in the first half of 2022 grew by 69% to 17.5 billion TL.
Hepsiburada increased the number of orders placed through the platform by 31% in the first half of the year. In the first six months of the year, the number of orders placed through the platform reached 29.1 million, while Hepsiburada's average order frequency per customer increased by 23% year-on-year to 5.2, up from 4.2 in the second quarter of 2021.
The number of active sellers of the shopping giant increased significantly as part of its strategy to bring customers together with more products through the marketplace model. Accordingly, the active seller base in the second quarter of 2022 grew by 45% compared to the same period of 2021, and the number of active sellers increased to 88.7 thousand.
The number of products on Hepsiburada reached 130.3 million with an annual increase of 107%. The marketplace share in Hepsiburada's total sales was recorded as 64% in the second quarter.
Aiming to benefit all its stakeholders and the industry by launching new brands and services such as Hepsijet, Hepsiburada Market, Hepsipay, Hepsiglobal HepsiAd and Hepsiburada Seyahat, Hepsiburada recorded an 18% year-on-year growth in the number of active customers in the second quarter of 2022, increasing from 9.9 million to 11.7 million.
Hepsijet, one of Hepsiburada's strategic investments, took the quality of its services to the next level with its 7 Operation Centers, 183 Delivery Points and 17 Transfer Centers in 81 provinces across Turkey. Thanks to its Multi-Vehicle Route Optimization, registered by the TURKPATENT, Hepsijet accelerated its speed and delivered 83% of the orders placed on the Hepsiburada store to all four corners of Turkey in less than 24 hours in the second quarter.
According to Hepsiburada's financial and operational figures for the second quarter of 2022, 39% of total sales on the Hepsiburada platform were made through Hepsipay's easy and secure payment solution, Hepsipay Wallet. Launched in June 2021, Hepsipay Wallet, Hepsiburada's next-generation payment method that enables fast, secure and easy payments, reached 8 million customers, up from 7.1 million in the previous quarter.
As the first and only Turkish company representing Turkey on the global technology exchange Nasdaq, Hepsiburada, one of Turkey's most popular brands, also announced the second quarter and first half of 2022 inflation-adjusted data in line with international financial reporting standards.
Total sales volume in the January-June period increased by 3% compared to the first half of the previous year, reaching 19.7 billion TL as a result of the re-accounting of financial data according to inflation. Hepsiburada's total sales volume calculated according to inflation accounting in the second quarter of 2022 was 9.6 billion TL.
