Naftogaz Group does not agree with the free transfer of Ukrtransnafta to the energy sector
The Ukrainian energy
establishment Naftogaz does not agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to transfer the ownership of Ukrtransnafta, which provides transportation of oil via the Druzhba pipeline, to this department.
The Naftogaz press service said that such a move would be in conflict with current Ukrainian legislation and could lead to the Naftogaz group being unable to pay its liabilities totaling 64 billion hryvnia. The portal biz.censor.net informs about it.
The reorganization and / or expropriation of
Naftogaz's assets in such a significant amount could jeopardize the fulfillment of the group's obligations under existing loan agreements, Naftogaz said in a statement.
Naftogaz further notes that the proposal to transfer Ukrtransnafta to the Ministry of Energy also runs counter to the property policy approved by the
Ukrainian government, which has given Naftogaz a strategic role in preparing for a primary minority public offering (IPO) on one of the leading stock exchanges.
The free transfer of shares in Ukrtransnafta to the Ministry of Energy would lead to the loss of Naftogaz in the amount of 11.7 billion hryvnia, the group added.
