New NAVTEX Announced in the Eastern Mediterranean
New NAVTEX was announced in the Eastern Mediterranean. With the announcement,
Oruç Reis's seismic research activities in the region were extended until 4 November.
Turkey declared a new NAVTEX for seismic research of Oruc Reis vessel. According to the announcement, the ship's research was extended until 4 November. The ships named Ataman and Cengizhan will continue to accompany their work in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Oruç Reis can perform geological, geophysical, hydrographic and oceanographic researches, along with continental shelf and natural resource explorations.
2 and 3 dimensional seismic, gravity and magnetic geophysical research can be carried out on the ship.
Oruç Reis can perform 3-dimensional seismic operations up to 8 thousand meters deep and two-dimensional seismic operations up to 15 thousand meters depth.
