Norwegian Police Are Trying to Uncover Confidential Transactions in Monero and Dash
In order to find the wife of the Norwegian millionaire kidnapped in 2018, the transactions of Monero and Dash cryptocurrencies were followed.
Norwegian police are trying to uncover confidential transactions in
Monero and Dash. There is still no news from Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, wife of the Norwegian millionaire Tom Hagen, who was abducted in 2018. While the exploration work has been going on for almost 2 years, the Cyber Crime Center of the country has started preparations to monitor the transactions of Monero and Dash cryptocurrencies.
About 3 years ago, Elisabeth Hagen was kidnapped and her husband Tom Hagen, was arrested in April last year. Although Hagen said he had nothing to do with the disappearance of his wife, the police are considering the possibility of Hagen making a plan, involving cryptocurrencies.
Police lawyer Richard Beck Pedersen stated that especially privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies are a major obstacle to resolving such incidents, and made the following statements:
“I do not want to give any information about what level we are in the investigation at the moment. We examine the Dash and Monero streams. I hope we will get an important result at the end of this research. Criminals do not have to know cryptography to use such tools. ”
Ransom Letter Found at Home
While the police recorded that the kidnapping plan was premeditated, they found that in June 2018, the criminals created an electronic file that was password protected and contained Bitcoin and Monero addresses.
9 Million Euros of Monero
In the house where Elisabeth Hagen was abducted, a ransom letter demanding Monero worth 9 million Euros was also found. In April last year, the police arrested
Tom Hagen on suspicion of plotting the murder of Anna-Elisabeth Hagen. Hagen denied the accusations. Police claim the Norwegian millionaire used the ransom letter to hide his plan.
It is also stated that there was a controversial marriage contract between the couple in the first period of their marriage.
