Oscar-winning Actor Anthony Hopkins to Promote NFT Works
Legendary Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins to Launch NFT Collection Inspired by Movie Roles and Artwork. "He is launching an NFT series featuring his iconic screen images, including his role as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs.
In collaboration with Web3 creative studio Orange Comet, the Golden Globe-winning actor will launch his first collection, dubbed "The Eternal Collection," on September 16 at OpenSea, the industry's leading NFT marketplace.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity to be determined by Hopkins and his wife Stella Arroyave.
Hopkins referred to the floating tokens as "a blank canvas to create art in a new format." Interestingly, he was initially nervous about creating the collection. However, he convinced himself and made it happen. "Try everything. At any age. Don't be limited by age. You can do it. There's nothing to gain, nothing to lose. Just do it," Hopkins said. Hopkins added that:
"The Web3 space offers an incredible opportunity to connect with audiences in a completely different way... "I'm probably the oldest person in the NFT community and on social media, which proves that anything is possible at any age," Hopkins added.
Earlier this year, the Oscar winning actor asked celebrity friends like Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon and Reese Witherspoon for NFT advice. This was after he adopted an Ethereum name for his Twitter account. He received a somewhat encouraging response from Jimmy Fallon, who is no stranger to NFTs himself.
Fallon is the owner of one of the prestigious Bored Ape NFTs, which he sampled in one of the segments of his show. The TV host purchased his Bored Ape number 599 for approximately $216,000.
Hopkins, on the other hand, appeared in the movie "Zero Contact" last year, which was released entirely as an NFT through the movie streaming platform VUELE.
