Pelosi and Mnuchin Continue Incentive Talks
Pelosi and Mnuchin continue their incentive talks. The divergences of the two on the incentive package started to decrease as a result of the negotiations.
US House of Representatives Spokesperson Nancy Pelosi and
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin began discussions again on the stimulus package shortly before the US Presidential elections, which will be held on November 3. One of Pelosi's aides stated that the differences of opinion between the two have decreased.
With a post from the Twitter account of Drew Hamill, the spokesperson of Pelosi, stated, "By the end of Tuesday, Pelosi hopes that the situation will be clarified as to whether the incentive package will pass before the elections." Hamill also stated that tomorrow the two main issues will be reconsidered and the authorities will work on the issue.
Pelosi told the House of Representatives that important disagreements still stand in the way of the agreement, according to the report compiled by four people who participated in the closed video call by Bloomberg, in a statement made on Monday morning.
Democrats insist on not compromising their priorities in local government, employees, students and health.
Hamill explained that the Democratic Committee Chairperson started talks directly with his counterpart in the Senate to reach a solution.
