Pelosi Speaks About Trump's Package Offer
Pelosi speaks about
Trump's package offer. Pelosi commented on the offer as “one step forward, two steps back.”
US House of Representatives Spokesperson Nancy Pelosi spoke about US President Donald Trump's latest stimulus package.
President Trump has ordered to halt package talks because he was unable to convince Republican senators in critical states of a package Democrats would support. Negotiations resumed after
Trump changed his decision, but some obstacles also emerged.
In a statement before the talks began on Saturday, Pelosi commented 'one step forward, two steps back' about the Trump administration's latest proposal.
In addition, Pelosi used the following statements in a letter to his colleagues:
“We have disputes on many issues. The president's proposal indicates that he is asking for a package that he will grant or keep at his discretion.”
On the other hand, Pelosi underlined that the package in question is sadly 'inadequate' for the federal state and local governments.
As a result, the fiscal stimulus package negotiations, which had seemed uncertain for a month, became even more tangled this week, as Trump blamed Pelosi on Tuesday and pulled the negotiators out of the talks.
