PlayNFT, an NFT-focused platform, has announced that it will allow publishers to create branded NFTs with the utility. PlayNFT's win of Ripple's XRPL Grant program Wave 3 accelerated this initiative. The XRPL grant program aims to power practical solutions in the real world. It also seeks to leverage the highly scalable XRPL network that powers XRP, one of the most liquid cryptocurrency assets. It funds these projects exclusively.
According to Ripple, there were 35 nominees in Wave 3, focusing on the 'contribution to open source' category. These were the result of more than 175 applications received from more than 30 countries around the world. The final selections have solutions that align with Ripple's goals of encouraging projects to implement projects to contribute to open source solutions. In this way, their platforms will increase the resources available to the ever-expanding Ripple community and its developers. So far, PlayNFT has raised $300K from XRP Ledger, Velas, Near Protocol and Stacks. It also allows Twitch and YouTube streamers to mint NFTs on networks of their choice with their global community. This feature is of interest to the millions of streaming community, especially gamers.
PlayNFT plans to integrate various Blockchains including Ethereum, Polygon, Enjin's Efinity, JumpNet, Avalanche, Telos, Solana, and Huobi Eco Chain. Subsequently, users who choose to mint NFTs through the PlayNFT platform will be free to share them on several Blockchains. PlayNFT's CEO Xavier Moore has spoken confidently that their solution will empower millions of content creators, endow their NFTs with utility, and most importantly foster collaboration.
As of mid-August, more than 260 publishers had subscribed to the system. Through PlayNFT, publishers will be able to create their branded NFTs. They will also be free to market their assets directly from their customized stores to their global fan communities. The platform has stated that publishers will be free to benefit their branded NFTs through interactive games such as Min-Mins and Shield of Shalwend. Developers will also be free to leverage a wide range of PlayNFT tools and add utilities to branded NFTs. Beyond blockchain, PlayNFT plans to support TikTok and add play-to-win (P2E) arcade games. In this arrangement, branded NFT owners will be able to compete for prizes in supported games. In this way, updates over time will strengthen the competitive environment.
