President Erdogan Evaluated US Sanctions President Erdogan evaluated US sanctions. Erdogan spoke about the CAATSA sanctions. President Erdogan said: “We are closely monitoring the opposition inside the country who can not steer Turkey as they wish and their efforts to use the authorities as a tool.” Regarding the sanctions decisions of the USA, Erdogan said, "The main purpose is to make us dependent by blocking the breakthroughs our country has initiated in the defense industry.” Erdogan made the following statements on the subject: “These sanctions have not been applied to any other country except Turkey. For the first time it is applied to our country as a member of NATO. The USA, which did not meet any of our conditions to buy these systems, pulled the sanction weapon because we could meet our needs from somewhere else. This is a decision against our country's sovereign rights it is a public attack on Turkey.
