President Erdoğan will Announce Natural Gas Reserves in the Black Sea President Erdoğan, who will examine the Fatih drill ship's work on site today, will announce the amount of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea. The reserve amount, which was previously reported to be 320 billion cubic meters, is expected to be announced as 400 billion cubic meters. Today, all attention has been turned to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement of natural gas reserves. Speaking at the AK Party Assembly Group Meeting which was held on weekdays, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement regarding the ongoing drilling works in the Black Sea and stated that he would go to examine the Fatih drill ship on Saturday (today) and then announce the new reserve amount. On August 21, it was announced that there are 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea, and this news was welcomed throughout the country. According to the news compiled by one of the Habertürk authors, Olcay Aydilek, most of the drilling work in the first well was completed. Studies have advanced and the amount of reserves is claimed to have increased from 320 billion cubic meters to over 400 billion cubic meters. It is predicted that the first 10 wells will be drilled and drilling activities will be carried out in the region by the end of 2021. The first gas delivery to the land is planned to be made on December 31, 2023. In the Sakarya gas field, where the Tuna-1 well is located, it is aimed to produce 15 billion cubic meters of gas per year at the plateau level as of January 1, 2026, from around 30 wells, which are planned to be opened by the end of 2025.
