President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Russian Leader Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation, the Moscow Kremlin said.
It was announced that President Tayyip Erdoğan had a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The leaders discussed Turkey-Russia relations as well as regional issues, including grain exports and developments regarding the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant.
President Erdoğan expressed his condolences on the death of Mikhail Gorbachev, the last president of the former Soviet Union, and added that Turkey could play a facilitating role in the
Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant as it did in the grain deal.
Erdoğan and Putin reiterated their determination for the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant to proceed as planned, and the leaders agreed to discuss all these issues, along with other items on their agenda, during their meeting in Samarkand on September 15 and 16 on the occasion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
