Production Cut by OPEC+ Exceeds Expectations
OPEC+ sources said on Sunday that OPEC+ is considering an oil production cut of more than one million barrels per day at its meeting on October 5.
This figure is slightly above the estimates given last week for a cut ranging from 500,000 barrels to 1 million barrels per day. This indicates that there will be a cut above expectations.
OPEC+, which unites OPEC countries and allies such as Russia, is meeting face-to-face in Vienna for the first time since March 2020.
"This is a meeting at a very interesting global time," one of the sources said.

OPEC plans to hold its first face-to-face meeting since March 2020 next week.
The purpose of the meeting expected to be held by OPEC is stated as the alliance is considering to focus on cutting oil production to stop the recent decline in prices.
The 23-nation alliance, led by Saudi Arabia and Russia, is scheduled to meet at its headquarters in Vienna on Wednesday, delegates said, although not all countries were able to send representatives due to short notice.
