PSV Eindhoven Became the First Club to Receive Bitcoin Payments
PSV Eindhoven became the first club to receive Bitcoin payments. The Dutch football club received its sponsorship payment in Bitcoin.
Dutch professional football club Philips Sport Vereniging (PSV), which has signed a new sponsorship agreement with Anycoin Direct, will be the first club in Europe to receive its full sponsorship payment in Bitcoin.
The statements used in the press release of the club were as follows:
“Focusing on the future, PSV has decided to use its sponsorship agreement with Anycoin Direct in a unique way. The full sponsorship amount will be paid to PSV in
Bitcoin.”
Anycoin Direct is a platform where you can buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Also, Anycoin Direct will be the official partner of PSV for the next two seasons. Besides, it was stated that the purpose of the sponsorship is to raise awareness about cryptocurrencies and Anycoin Direct in Europe. According to a local report from Eindhovens Dagblad, the deal is worth around $480,000.
