Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Answered the Expected KYK Payment Questions!

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave students a deep breath by saying, "We have decided that tuition loan repayments will be made only on the loan amount received, without inflation difference or interest application."

Making statements to the citizens after the Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey is the country with the most comprehensive higher education dormitory, student loan and student scholarship system provided by the state in the world. In his speech, Tayyip Erdoğan mentioned that this year nearly 750 thousand students benefited from dormitory facilities, more than 520 thousand students received scholarships and more than 881 thousand students continued their education by receiving education loans and stated that they increased the amount of loans and scholarships 14 times in the last 20 years. Stating that when they came to office, 45 lira scholarship or loan was given to undergraduates, today 850 lira, 1700 lira for master's degree and 2 thousand 550 lira for doctorate, President Erdoğan added that these figures will increase even more at the beginning of the year. Referring to the KYK payments, Erdoğan stated that the repayment of the loans started 2 years after graduation. He stated that if the graduated student has not started a job with insurance during this period, they can postpone the payment through the e-Government system. Thus, we have radically solved the education loan problem of approximately 3 million 157 thousand young people, including 1 million 49 thousand who have graduated and will start repayment, 812 thousand who have received loans but have not yet graduated, and 1 million 295 thousand whose repayment is followed by tax offices. As of next year, our students who will start to repay their loans will now only be responsible for the loan amount they have received.
