President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recorded a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Scholz and Russian President Putin.
According to the statement released by the Presidential Communications Directorate, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
During the conversation, Turkey-Germany relations and regional issues were discussed. The close dialog with German Chancellor Scholz for the strengthening of the relations between the two countries in every field attracted attention.
Expressing that they expect Germany to return to their neutral stance on Turkish-Greek relations, President Erdoğan underlined the need to revive the Turkey-European Union dialogue, the talks on updating the Customs Union and the accession negotiations.
The meeting ended with an assessment of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
President Erdoğan also held a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to the statement released by the Presidential Communications Directorate, the leaders discussed regional issues, especially the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine War.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that they continue to take necessary initiatives before all parties to solve the problems related to the implementation of the Istanbul Memorandum on grain shipments.
President Erdoğan also thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his sincere words about Turkey and him during his speech at the Valday Discussion Club meeting.
