Restriction on Ford Sales in Germany. The sale and manufacture of Ford cars with internet connectivity is banned in Germany due to the lawsuit regarding the infringement of wireless technology patents.
The Munich District court ruled today on the lawsuit filed by Japan's national patent licensing firm IP Bridge on behalf of 8 owners of 4G mobile communications patents.
It has been discovered that the court has ruled that Ford cannot sell or manufacture vehicles in Germany unless the owner of the wireless technology patents reaches an agreement with the plaintiffs.
Making a written statement on the subject, US-based automaker Ford stated that the reason for the lawsuit was the licensing of standard basic patents for long-term evolution (LTE) networks.
In the statement, it was also said that since the written decision of the German court has not been taken yet, an evaluation will not be made.
