Retail sales in the US were below estimates. Data did not change in April compared to the previous month.
Retail sales statistics for April have been announced in the USA. Contrary to the forecast for an increase, retail sales in the country did not change compared to the previous month. Economists expected this data to increase by 1 percent in April. Retail sales excluding automobiles and fuel fell 0.8 percent in April. The expectation for this data was a 0.3 percent increase. Retail sales, excluding automobiles, also declined by 0.8 percent. The control group retail sales decreased by 1.5 percent in April.
