USA. Contrary to the forecast for an increase, retail sales in the country did not change compared to the previous month.
Economists expected this data to increase by 1 percent in April.
Retail sales excluding automobiles and fuel fell 0.8 percent in April. The expectation for this data was a 0.3 percent increase.
Retail sales, excluding automobiles, also declined by 0.8 percent.
The control group retail sales decreased by 1.5 percent in April. Economists' expectation was that there would be a decline by 0.2 percent.
