Elon Musk. A statement has been made by Ripple on the subject, company stated that it will make its operations carbon-neutral in 10 years to ensure the sustainability of the industry.
The company announced that it will cooperate with the XRP Ledger Foundation, known as a non-profit organization, energy-focused blockchain company Energy Web and think-tank Rock Mountain, with the aim of reducing the carbon emissions of blockchains to zero using EW Zero.
EW Zero is defined as an open source tool that does not emit carbon, wants renewable energy and provides this to companies including blockchain companies.
Ripple also noted that a research commission has been established with the country's leading universities, and studies have begun to determine the energy spent in cryptocurrency, credit card and cash transactions.
Zero Carbon Footprint in 10 Years
Stating that they plan to invest in studies that will reduce their carbon footprint, the company made the following statements:
“We will contribute to the work of the industry in this sense and provide resources to initiatives that will accelerate these studies. We will determine Ripple's carbon footprint and deal with companies that provide renewable energy. We aim for a carbon-free Ripple company by 2030.
