Rishi Sunak "I will try to fix the mess left by Truss"
Rishi Sunak, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, said he will try to fix the mess left by Liz Truss, Member of the UK Parliament.
Rishi Sunak, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, said in a statement after receiving the authority to form a government from King Charles that he will try to fix the mess left by Liz Truss.
"Our country is facing a deep economic crisis. This post-Covid situation is still ongoing. There are major problems like the war in Ukraine, unstable energy markets and supply chain problems around the world. At the center of this government will be economic stability and trust. That means difficult decisions will be made.
I pay tribute to my predecessor Liz Truss. There is nothing wrong with wanting to boost growth in this country. It's a noble goal. I admired Truss's tenacity to bring about change, but mistakes were made. They were not mistakes born out of malice, but they were mistakes made with the opposite intention. And I was elected as the leader of the party of which I am a member and as your prime minister to correct some of them."
