Roszak Thinks DeFi Could Reach $800 Billion
Matthew Roszak, an early cryptocurrency investor, thinks DeFi could reach $800 billion.
Matthew Roszak, co-founder of decentralized finance (
DeFi) platform Vasper, says he believes the DeFi industry may reach $800 billion next year, continuing its exponential growth trend.
Speaking to Business Insider, Roszak said that a “perfect storm” continues for the industry as investors from around the world chase high returns on DeFi platforms and mainstream cryptocurrency adoption.
Roszak said, "Currently,
DeFi has a market cap of around $80 billion. I predict another zero will be added in a year."
In the past year, locked assets on DeFi platforms have increased by 1000%. With the continuation of the trend, it is thought that the level of 800 billion dollars can be exceeded next year. According to Roszak, much of the growth seen in DeFi is due to investors seeking higher returns on platforms that offer incentives to liquidity providers, such as the distribution of their own tokens. In addition, Roszak states that the government's relationship with the industry is vital for growth to continue.
