Russian Energy Giant Gazprom Says It Has Stopped the Leaks
In a written statement issued by Gazprom, Russia's largest company and the world's largest natural gas extracting energy giant, it was stated that the pressure in both lines of Nord Stream 1 and Line A of Nord Stream 2 has returned to normal and gas deliveries can be restored if a decision is taken.
Energy company Gazprom announced that the pressure in the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines has returned to normal. It also noted that natural gas leaks have ended.
In the statement, which also shared the information that gas leakage in damaged lines has stopped, it was said,
"Work is underway to reduce the pressure in the B line of Nord Stream 2. For this purpose, the gas in the pipeline is being drained."
It was added that if a decision is taken to ship gas from the B line of Nord Stream 2, the line can be filled with gas again after the necessary inspections.
Nord Stream AG, the executing company of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, announced on September 26 that damages occurred simultaneously on both lines. Danish and Swedish authorities stated that there were findings of explosions in the lines passing through the territorial waters of both countries and that gas leakage was detected in the lines.
