Second Presidential Debate in the USA Canceled
The second presidential debate in the USA has been canceled. The debate, scheduled for October 15, was shelved due to Trump's coronavirus diagnosis.
The commission, which organized live broadcast discussions among presidential candidates in the USA, reported that the 2nd presidential debate was canceled due to the situations that developed after
US President Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus.
In the USA, the Presidential Debates Commission (CPD) stated in its written statement that the second presidential debate, which is planned to be held on October 15, cannot be held.
In the statement in question, the commission used the following:
“It seems clear at the moment that there will be no live broadcast debate on October 15, so CPD will now focus on preparations for the final debate scheduled for October 22nd.”
US President Donald Trump announced that he had coronavirus last week and started treatment in the hospital. After this development, discussions began and concerns about how to do the debate within the scope of Trump's quarantine for at least 10 days.
Although the commission proposed that the second debate be held online, the Trump side did not accept the proposal; Biden, on the other hand, had not accepted the physical debate environment, fearing that the president might not have removed the virus from his body yet.
As a result of these developments, the 3rd and final presidential live broadcast debate in the USA will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, on 22 October.
