Selçuk: We Have A Fund That Can Be Extended For Long Term   Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services, stated in her statement that 'we have funds that can be extended to long terms'. Answering the questions of Hakan Çelik in CNN Türk publication, Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk explained that the ministry's social protection framework was established on working life regulations, social security, social services and social assistance, and that the main goal was to protect all citizens socially. Stating that the Normalization Support declarations will continue until September 26, Minister Selçuk said:   “I recommend all our employers to use this mechanism to get Normalization Support. Premium support is around 1000 lira, but will be given in proportion to the Short Work Allowance. They will set off SGK premiums with us, it will be as if we are covering 3 months after we postponed it for 6 months. '' Selçuk pointed out that more than one measure has been taken for the work life since the coronavirus pandemic started, and reminded that İŞKUR's active workforce programs and passive workforce programs have been put into use. Selçuk continued as follows: “The most important of these was the Short Work Allowance, we brought cash wage support, at the same time we tried to prevent our workers and employees from losing their jobs with termination restrictions. We continued to take various measures in social assistance and social services. The most fundamental point has been the Short Work Allowance for us. In parallel with this, we have introduced cash wage support and termination restriction so that none of our employees will be exposed. During this period, Unemployment Allowance was also ongoing. ''   Reminding that the Short Work Allowance was extended for 2 more months with the Presidential decision, Minister Selçuk used the following statements:  

“We currently have a very strong Unemployment Insurance Fund. We hope that the effects of the epidemic will decrease in a short time, but we have a strong Unemployment Insurance Fund to continue for a certain period of time, so we do not have any concerns. We made all the projections, we have enough funds to extend it both until the end of December and for longer terms. However, there is a situation like this; Although the Short Work Allowance is a powerful mechanism in such situations both to protect our employees and to protect our employers, we actually started to provide another support under the name of Normalization Support during the normalization period. Although the Short Work Allowance is of course a very effective mechanism in a sense, while it is normalized, it actually causes our workers to receive less income because they do not receive their actual wages. We support them. ''

  All Employers Should Get Normalization Support   Minister Selçuk advised all employers to get Normalization Support and said:

“Normalization Support is not a wage support, we will pay the SGK premiums there, to the extent that they benefit from Short Work. In fact, as the ministry, we had delayed our 3-month premiums by 6 months, and we had made a 40 billion premium deferral. It requires us not to receive some of the premiums that we have postponed in the Normalization Support. In a way, we will pay the premium support. By paying premium supports, we will support our employers, while normalizing it, we will support our employers at that premium rate, no matter how much loss they have experienced in Short Work, no matter how much they have reduced the job situation. We initially had about 3.5 million employees benefiting from Short Work Allowance, but quickly our employers are trying to move from Short Work as it normalizes. This is also very promising. Although our employers continue to benefit from the Short Work Allowance, they are also making a great effort to get out of Short Work and pay the full salary to the employee and to switch to production completely. Normalization Support declarations continue until the end of this month, until September 26. I recommend all our employers to use this mechanism to get Normalization Support. Premium support will be around 1000 lira, but will be paid at the rate they benefit from the Short Work Allowance, half if half benefited, full if fully benefited.
