Şişecam Doubled Its Profit In The First Quarter
Şişecam doubled its profit in the first quarter. The company's profit has doubled compared to the same period last year.
Şişecam's consolidated net sales for the January-March period of 2021 increased to 5.7 billion TL, while the share of international sales, which means the sum of exports from Turkey and sales from overseas production, in the consolidated sales was around 60 percent.
While Şişecam's net profit was calculated as 1.35 billion TL in the same period, its net profit was calculated as 674 million TL in the first quarter of 2020, when the epidemic was the most intense.
While the share of international sales of Şişecam in its total sales in this period was 60 percent, the company's total investments in the first three months of the year were recorded as 406 million TL and exports were recorded as approximately 153 million dollars.
Şişecam, which produced 1.25 million tons of glass in the first quarter of the year, produced 550 thousand tons of soda and 1.2 million tons of industrial raw materials during this period.
Şişecam Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman noted that Şişecam continued to create value for all its stakeholders in the first quarter of 2021, when extraordinary conditions preserved their dominance with the effect of the global epidemic. Kırman made the following statements:
