South Korea's Official YouTube Channel Hacked
South Korea's official youtube channel was hacked. Hackers published a crypto-related clip after hacking the channel.
Elon Musk was also featured in the crypto video published on the hacked Youtube channel of the South Korean government.
The official YouTube channel of the South Korean government became the target of a hacker attack on September 3, 2022. According to the Korean Yonhap news agency, the hackers posted a
crypto-themed video. With the attack, the Korean government's YouTube channel was renamed "Spacex Invest". The channel also featured an interview with Tesla and Spacex founder Elon Musk about cryptocurrencies.
A representative from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, which is responsible for the management of the YouTube account, noted that ministry employees became aware of the situation around 6 am.
It is suspected that the account's identity and password may have been stolen. YouTube's parent company Google confirmed that the channel had been hacked, while Google Korea said its unit was investigating the hack, Yonhap reported.
