Statement from Gazprom: "Nord Stream Pipelines Fixed"
The statement made by Russian energy giant Gazprom made faces smile. It was noted that the pressure in both lines of Nord Stream 1 and Line A of Nord Stream 2 has returned to normal and gas deliveries can be resumed if a decision is taken.
Gazprom, Russia's largest company and the world's largest natural gas producer, announced that the pressure in the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines has returned to normal. Gazprom added that the leaks have stopped.
In the statement, which also included the information that gas leakage in the damaged lines has stopped,
"Work is underway to reduce the pressure in the B line of Nord Stream 2. For this purpose, the gas in the pipeline is being discharged." notes were included.
In the statement recorded by the energy giant, it was underlined that if a decision is taken to ship gas from the B line of Nord Stream 2, the line can be filled with gas again after the necessary inspections.
Nord Stream AG, the executing company of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, announced on September 26 that damages occurred simultaneously on both lines. Danish and Swedish authorities announced that there were findings of explosions in the lines passing through the territorial waters of both countries and that gas leakage was detected in the lines.
Russia and many Western countries described the incidents as "sabotage".
Following the disruptions, Gazprom announced that natural gas exports fell by 40.4 percent in 9 months of the year compared to the same period last year.
The energy company's natural gas production in 9 months of the year decreased by 17.1 percent to 313.3 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year. During this period, the company's natural gas exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) decreased by 40.4 percent compared to the same period last year to 86.9 billion cubic meters.
