BIST 100 index gained 1.91 percent in
Borsa Istanbul and closed the day with 1.133.59 points.
At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index increased by 21.22 points compared to the previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 25.9 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index gained 0.52 percent, while the holding index gained 2.14 percent. Among the sector indices, transportation was the most profitable with 5.40 percent, while the highest loss was recorded on SME industry with 1.44 percent.
BIST 100 index, which opened the day with an increase, continued its positive trend, with the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) and export figures getting better. Analysts, stating that the presidential election to be held tomorrow in the USA is at the center of the markets, reminded that Democrat Joe Biden is 7.2 points ahead of his Republican rival Donald Trump, according to polls published at the weekend.
The analysts said that the inflation data will be monitored in the country tomorrow and that the data of factory orders and durable goods orders in the USA will be monitored abroad. In addition, it was stated that the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and the news flow regarding geopolitical developments will continue to have an impact on the risk perception.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,110 in the BIST 100 index is critical in terms of the medium-term outlook, and it should be monitored whether the 1,140 level can be exceeded in the rises.
