Stock market closed the day with a record on December 18. In
Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index gained 0.64 percent and finished the day with 1,408.32 points. With this level, the index closed at an all-time high while taking its highest level record to 1,410.32 points.
At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index increased by 8.95 points compared to the previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 26.4 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index gained 1.16 percent, while the holding index gained 0.84 percent. Among the sector indices, the most earning was stone and soil with 2.80 percent, while forest, paper and printing became the most losing with 3.71 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which gained 2.74 percent on a weekly basis, gained value 7 weeks in a row.
In the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, it was emphasized that the BIST 100 index was positively differentiated, although the global markets were mixed due to the increase in the number of cases and negative economic effects.
Analysts stating that next week in the country, the interest rate decision will be announced at the Central Bank of Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, reported thast the data agenda, particularly growth in the US will be monitored abroad.
On the technical side, analysts stated that in the
BIST 100 index, 1.440 points are in the resistance position and 1.320 is in the support position.
