The stock market started the new week with a decrease on January 11. BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul decreased by 0.14 percent and started the week with 1.538.50 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which decreased 2.11 points and 0.14 percent compared to its previous closing, fell to 1.538.50 points.
While the banking index depreciated by 0.69 percent at the opening, the holding index fell by 0.10 percent. Among the sector indices, communication gained the most with 2.13 percent, and banking was the most declining.
BIST 100 index, which closed the day with 1.540.61 points with 1.21 percent gain in value on the last trading day of the past week, recorded its all-time closing with this level.
Analysts stated that after the developments regarding the dismissal of US President Donald Trump, the mention of trillions of dollars financial incentives by Joe Biden, who was elected to the US Presidency, and the upward trend in the dollar index, global markets are trying to find direction.
Indicating that the data on unemployment and current account balance will be monitored domestically today, analysts said that the data agenda is stable abroad.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the 1.550 level is in the resistance position and the 1.470 points in the support position in the
BIST 100 index.
