Stock market started the week with an increase on October 19.
BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.45 percent and started the day with 1,198.08 points.
The BIST 100 index, which gained 5.35 points and 0.45 percent at the beginning of the day, reached 1,198.08 points.
At the opening, the banking index gained 0.77 percent, while the holding index gained 0.62 percent. Securities investment trusts were the most profitable among the sector indices with 3.45 percent, while most loss was seen in food and beverage with 0.56 percent.
The last trading day of last week, the Banks Association of Turkey announced a support package for the tourism sector and BIST 100 index prior to the announcement of new natural gas reserves amount, recorded 1.04 percent increase and was closed 1192.73 points.
Analysts said the static data agenda in the country is stable today, and throughout the week, Turkey's Central Bank interest rate decision, the US central bank (Fed) Beige Book Report and manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) announcements will be monitored.
Stating that the news that the incentive package will be discussed tomorrow in the USA reflects positively on the risk appetite, analysts noted that the number of new coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and the measures taken in this context are at the center of the agenda.
In technical terms, analysts stated that in the BIST 100 index, 1,200 points are in resistance and 1,180 and 1,150 points are in support.
