Takeda applies for Moderna's coronavirus vaccine. Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda is pending approval.
Takeda, the Japanese pharmaceutical company that will supply and distribute the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine produced by
Moderna, within Japan, applied to the Ministry of Health for the local use of this vaccine. The Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda will deliver the results of the clinical tests, which have been applied to 200 volunteers over the age of 20 in Japan since January, to the ministry until May.
The government of Japan reached an agreement with the US firm to provide a total of 50 million doses of Moderna vaccine by September 2021. While the Pfizer vaccine was approved by the Ministry of Health last month, the AstraZeneca vaccine is still awaiting approval.
The Japanese government announced that a total of 310 million doses of vaccine had been ordered from
BioNTech-Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna until now.
