Tesla Statement from Elon Musk; 3 Million Cars

Elon Musk, CEO of electric car manufacturer Tesla, announced on his twitter page that Tesla has made more than 3 million cars.

Successful businessman Elon Musk congratulated the factory in Giga Shanghai, which produced one million vehicles, on Twitter. "Congratulations to Giga Shanghai for making the millionth car! Total Teslas have now exceeded 3 million." The announcement by Elon Musk comes after months of lockdowns and parts shortages in China that threatened Tesla's vehicle production, suggesting that Tesla's Shanghai factory produced a significant number of new vehicles after opening in 2019 and subsequent investment years. The total vehicle success celebrated by Musk on Sunday came after Tesla's deliveries, the closest estimate for sales, have increased in recent quarters. In July, Tesla said it delivered 254,695 vehicles in the second quarter, up 26.5 percent year-on-year. These figures also reveal how small Tesla is compared to automotive giants. For example, Toyota delivered more than 10 million vehicles in 2021 alone.
