The British government would postpone the customs controls until January
The British government announced on Tuesday that it would postpone the launch of proper post -Brexit customs controls on goods coming from the European Union until January.
At the same time, it pointed out administrative obstacles as well as new immigration rules, the AFP agency informed.
Britain was due to start customs controls on imports of food, including animal products from the EU, from October. However, as part of a "new pragmatic timetable", their launch is postponed to early 2022, the British prime minister said.

Certain administrative requirements for food arriving in Britain were to be required from October, which are now being postponed until July 2022. However, customs clauses will be mandatory from 1 January 2022. Physical checks on goods, which were originally scheduled to begin in January, will start in July. Announced London's chief negotiator for Brexit, David Frost.
"We want entrepreneurs to be able to focus on recovering from a pandemic, not to have to deal with new border requirements," Frost said.
According to the British Retail Consortium, the EU is the UK's largest trading partner, with up to 30 per cent of all food on the UK
market coming from the Union.
