The EC has agreed in partnership with Croatia on a changeover campaign

The European Commission (EC) confirmed that it had signed a partnership agreement with Croatia on the organization of information and communication campaigns on the changeover to the euro in that country. According to a press release from the European Commission, this is part of Croatia's preparatory steps for joining the eurozone. A documentary on the sidelines of a meeting of eurozone finance ministers (Eurogroup) in Brussels was described by Valdis Dombrovskis, executive vice president of the European Trade Commission, Paolo Gentiloni, EU commissioner for economics, and Zdravko Marič, deputy prime minister and finance minister of Croatia. The Partnership Agreement is the European Commission's political commitment to support the organization of information and communication campaigns on the changeover to the euro in Croatia, scheduled for 1 January 2023, provided that the country meets all the convergence criteria for joining the euro area. The Monday signing is the basis for the preparation and signing of the grant agreement, which will allow the EU executive to co-finance the communication activities related to the changeover to the euro in Croatia. The euro area currently has 19 member countries. Apart from Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania are also interested in joining the euro area. The governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland are postponing the adoption of the common currency and Sweden does not meet the required criteria. Denmark applies the opt-out clause set out in the protocol annexed to the EU Treaty, although it may adopt the euro in the future if it so wishes.
