The US stock market rose to new record highs
The US stock market closed a successful week. The S&P 500 index rose for the fifth day in a row and strengthened its most week-long strengthening since November.
The latest gain has moved the S&P 500 index to a new record high.
Although the US Department of Labor reported on Friday that employers in the US increased the number of jobs by only 49,000 in January, investors focused more on the prospect of further economic stimuli.
Prudential Financial's Quincy Krosby said investors 'willingness to buy stocks was supported by companies' surprisingly good financial results, reports that the recent rise in new coronavirus cases was moderating, and progress in vaccine distribution.

Dow Jones industrial index rose 0.3 percent to 31,148.24 points and the technology
Nasdaq improved 0.6 percent to a record high of 13,856.30 points . Shares of smaller companies outperformed the overall market, with the Russell 2000 index gaining 1.4 percent, closing at a record 2,233.33 points.
