The Trump administration will put pressure on Chinese officials for their attitude towards some dissidents in Hong Kong. The commercial pressures that the US has applied to China in recent times are known to everyone. But US President Donald Trump seems determined to escalate tensions with China days before his term expires. According to the news in Reuters, the Trump administration is preparing to impose sanctions on some Chinese officials for its attitude towards elected opposition leaders in Hong Kong. It is said that the officials to be sanctioned include members of the Chinese Communist Party. According to sources reporting to Reuters, freezing assets and other financial sanctions are planned for the authorities in question. However, the same sources did not provide any information about the names that would be sanctioned.
